9B.6.4.1. Battle Assignments - Double elimination bracket

As far as I know there was only 1 Unicon where we used a double elimination bracket (Unicon 17 in Montréal), and it took a super long time. In my opinion it is better to go with a simple bracket, but with more riders (8 instead of 4, 16 instead of 8). What do you think?

Comment

From an audience and organizer perspective, I like simple bracket better.

Comment

Agreed.

Comment

Definitely single bracket! Noone, like really noone understood what was going on in Montréal with that double elimination bracket.

Comment

Single bracket for sure, it was easy to realize it was a mistake at Unicon 17. Additionally, riders don't have that many trick so everything is already bit a of a copy of a copy with prelim + battles, adding more battles doesn't help.

Comment

Looks like we all agree. Let's make this a proposal.

Comment

@Mark, this would also be you who needs to make this a proposal.

Comment

Proposal could look something like this?

Old:

9B.6.4.1 Battle Assignments
Battles will proceed according to the following brackets. The use of the double elimination bracket is optional.
Here are example double elimination brackets for reference: https://unicycling.org/

Thanks for preparing it, I already created the other discussion to a proposal which includes this too. Currently waiting for a review.
